Capcom’s latest survival horror game, Resident Evil Requiem, features a complex Easter egg titled “The Final Puzzle”.

Content creator SynthPotato recently shared an extensive breakdown of the newly discovered Resident Evil Requiem Easter egg on Twitter/X, detailing what they describe as an “insanely complex” hidden challenge titled “The Final Puzzle.” They spent countless hours decoding the mystery, uncovering a trail of clues that stretches across multiple in-game systems and files. Minor spoilers follow, particularly for players who have not yet completed the “Rhodes Care Home” section.

The investigation began with the discovery of a severed hand found shortly after escaping the basement. The content creator noticed that after finishing the “Rhodes Care Home” section, the item receives a checkmark in the inventory, suggesting it still has an undiscovered use. This observation led them to the Challenges menu, where “The Final Puzzle” appears with the cryptic description “Let the sweet pair hear the voice.”

SynthPotato further discovered that the severed hand can be scanned in the blood analyzer. Doing so reveals the hidden message “Let’s Play” along with a string of letters. After consulting a doctor friend of theirs, they were able to translate it into a message that reads “GLITCH”. The word initially seemed abstract, but additional environmental clues began forming a pattern.

An hourglass in Victor’s office displays the message “U = 380,000”. The blood analyzer itself reads “G = 150000000”. Meanwhile, a file discussing Grace’s blood analysis notes “C = 4.2 ly.” As an aerospace engineer, the content creator recognized “ly” as light-years. 4.2 light-years from Earth points to Alpha Centauri, a star system. 380,000 kilometers corresponds to the approximate distance between Earth and the Moon. 150,000,000 kilometers closely matches the distance to the Sun. From there, the following connections were determined :

  • C = Star
  • U = Moon
  • G = Sun

The final breakthrough came from RNA codon sequencing, which uses combinations of C, G, U, and A. With no clear value assigned to “A,” SynthPotato focused solely on the known trio. Entering the sequence translated into celestial terms,“Sun Sun Star Sun Moon Star Sun Moon Sun Moon Star Moon”, into a glitched machine in Rhodes’ east wing triggered the creepy laughter of a little girl.

Despite scouring the entire “Rhodes Care Home” area, no additional changes were discovered, and “The Final Puzzle” remains unsolved. The content creator believes there is another code yet to be uncovered, hidden somewhere else within the game.
