Resident Evil Requiem Surpasses Five Million Steam Wishlists

Resident Evil Requiem has become one of the most wishlisted games on Steam, with Capcom confirming that the title has now surpassed five million wishlists ahead of its release later this month. The update was shared directly by the official Resident Evil social media account and represents a significant increase from the previously disclosed figure.

The official Resident Evil account posted the milestone message on X, stating, “Thank you for over 5 million wishlists for Resident Evil Requiem. 3 weeks remaining.” The update marks a notable jump from the four million wishlists figure that Capcom last shared in January, highlighting rapidly growing interest as launch approaches.

Reaching more than five million wishlists places Resident Evil Requiem among the most anticipated upcoming releases on Steam. The growth in wishlists over a relatively short period suggests increasing momentum for the ninth mainline entry in Capcom’s long-running survival horror franchise, particularly as previews, interviews, and gameplay details continue to surface.

Resident Evil Requiem is developed and published by Capcom and serves as the ninth core installment in the Resident Evil series. Built on the RE Engine, the game introduces a dual-protagonist structure featuring Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy. Grace is an FBI intelligence analyst investigating the death of her mother at the Wrenwood Hotel, located in a devastated version of Raccoon City. Leon, a veteran agent, is pursuing a separate biological threat in the Midwest, creating parallel storylines that intersect over the course of the game.

Gameplay in Resident Evil Requiem is built around a hybrid perspective system, allowing players to switch between first-person and third-person views. Grace’s sections are designed to emphasize stealth, tension, and environmental puzzle-solving, while Leon’s chapters focus more heavily on cinematic action and combat-driven encounters. This structural contrast is positioned as a core element of the overall experience.

The strong wishlist performance also reflects the franchise’s continued global appeal, particularly on PC, where Steam has become an increasingly important platform for Capcom releases. The steady rise from four million to five million wishlists indicates sustained engagement rather than a short-term spike, suggesting that awareness and interest are continuing to build as the release date draws closer.

Resident Evil Requiem is scheduled for a global launch on February 27, 2026. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
