Capcom’s latest survival horror game, Resident Evil Requiem, features a rare, powerful zombie that can one-hit kill mini-bosses.
Twitter/X users neko_sougo and SparkingSushi (via REBiohazardNews) have discovered that a rare and powerful zombie that lurks the Rhodes Hill Care Center can one-hit kill mini-bosses. Both of them shared video clips demonstrating this.
One-Hit Kill Zombie In Resident Evil Requiem
The aforementioned one-hit kill zombie in Resident Evil Requiem can be seen in action below.
The zombie in question is blind, with a bandage on his face. He carries a drip stand with a blood bag attached to it as his weapon. He is initially found in the Waiting Room of the Rhodes Hill Care Center, where he stands quietly by the reception counter. Once he is made aware of Grace’s presence, he begins following her around the area. As seen in the video above, this can lead to some rather unexpected situations.
If the blind zombie encounters the Chef zombie mini-boss in the kitchen, he can take the latter out with a single hit from his drip stand. Similarly, the Chunk mini-boss can be taken out with one hit by this surprisingly powerful zombie. It seems as if his difficulty modifiers are off the charts! It was recently revealed via a recent datamine of Resident Evil Requiem’s game files that it features a dynamic difficulty system operating behind the scenes. The dataminer discovered that while players choose from 4 fixed difficulty settings, the game dynamically shifts between difficulty ranks 0 through 9 depending on player performance.
At higher ranks, enemies move faster, players take much more damage, and enemies are far less likely to stagger. Rank 9 (Insanity mode) in particular is brutal, where players are locked to taking 3.6x damage, while enemies have only a 0.1x chance to flinch and 0.4x damage factor. It’s possible that the blind zombie ended up with rank 9 stats regardless of the difficulty setting.
