Capcom has released the second trailer for Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth mainline entry in its long-running survival horror franchise. Alongside new footage, the publisher has confirmed that the game will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2, in addition to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The title is set to launch worldwide on February 27, 2026.

The new trailer showcases more of the game’s unsettling atmosphere, though the footage shown was captured on the PC version. Accompanied by the haunting tagline “Requiem for the dead. Nightmare for the living,” the preview highlights the tension-filled environments and grim encounters that have long defined the series.

Initially revealed during the 2025 Summer Game Fest, Resident Evil Requiem introduces a new protagonist, FBI agent Grace Ashcroft, who is tasked with investigating a string of bizarre deaths within the confines of a mysterious hotel. The game promises to mark a new era of survival horror, with Capcom aiming to push the series forward after the success of Resident Evil Village in 2021.

There had been earlier speculation that the title might appear on PlayStation 4, though current details suggest the release will be limited to modern platforms only. With the confirmation of a Switch 2 version, Capcom is signaling its intent to deliver a comparable experience across the latest hardware generations.

Resident Evil Requiem is shaping up to be one of Capcom’s most ambitious projects in recent years. While specific gameplay details remain under wraps, the series’ reputation for combining tense exploration, resource management, and cinematic horror has set high expectations. Fans will not have long to wait, as the February 2026 release date approaches.
