Robocop: Rogue City Steam Game Data Was Temporarily Replaced With Unannounced Reboot Of Hunter: The Reckoning

Game data for Robocop: Rogue City was temporarily replaced with the data of the unannounced reboot of Hunter: The Reckoning on Steam.

Developer Teyon appears to have made a major mistake with the latest update for RoboCop Rogue City, accidentally replacing its game data those belonging to what appears to be an unannounced reboot of Hunter: The Reckoning. As seen on the game’s SteamDB page (via Twitter/X users __silent_ and EdnessTweets), its executable had been replaced with a file named “Hunter.exe”.

Upon booting up the updated executable, a title screen appeared with the text “Hunter: The Reckoning”. However, it turned out that the actual games under that title are by another developer and are 2D text-based. It appears that developer Teyon has acquired the license for the horror tabletop role-playing game from Renegade Game Studios. The game’s build is dated May 20, 2025.

All things considered, it looks like Teyon is working on a reboot of the Hunter: The Reckoning video game that was originally developed by High Voltage Software and published by Interplay Entertainment.  It was released on May 21, 2002, for the original Xbox and on November 19, 2002, for the GameCube. The game is inspired by the tabletop role-playing title of the same name and belongs to the World of Darkness franchise. Two follow-up games, Hunter: The Reckoning – Wayward and Hunter: The Reckoning – Redeemer, were released in 2003.

Players control hunters battling large groups of supernatural enemies using melee attacks, firearms, and magical abilities. The narrative focuses on Ashcroft Penitentiary, a prison that vampires have turned into a feeding site. Those who die within its walls return as hostile and vengeful wraiths. Combat involves both ranged firearms and close-quarters melee attacks, while players can also use magical abilities known as “edges.” These powers produce various effects, such as damaging multiple enemies at once or restoring the player’s health.
