Rocket League Update 2.64 Adds Preset Slots and Switch 2 Enhancements

Rocket League Version 2.64 introduces new customization options, a limited-time event, and multiple platform-specific improvements. The update expands preset slots, adds the Cartman’s Crash Out LTE with themed rewards, and refreshes Champions Field with new banners celebrating recent competitive champions.

The patch also delivers meaningful quality-of-life updates and technical enhancements, including tutorial behavior changes and a comprehensive set of rendering and performance upgrades for Nintendo Switch 2 players. Several visual and audio bugs have also been resolved to improve overall polish.

Cartman’s Crash Out LTE

  • Added the Cartman’s Crash Out limited-time event.
  • Event runs from January 22 at 4 PM PT to February 5 at 4 PM PT.
  • Completing event challenges rewards new Certified Toppers.
  • Added the animated Cheesy Poofs Octane Decal as an event reward.

Customization Updates

Expanded Preset Slots

  • Increased preset slots from 50 to 75.
  • Allows players to save more vehicle customization combinations.

  • Added banners honoring the 2025 RLCS 3v3 champions.

Quality of Life Updates

Tutorial Behavior

  • Players who have already completed the introductory tutorial will no longer be forced to replay it when accessing the game on another platform for the first time.
  • This change does not apply to Xbox.

Nintendo Switch 2 Enhancements

Rendering and Performance

  • Implemented multiple visual and performance improvements for Nintendo Switch 2.
  • Removed the Performance and Quality graphics toggle.
    • The game now uses optimized settings by default.

Resolution Targets

  • Docked mode now runs at 1080p and 60 FPS.
  • Handheld mode targets 1080p at 60 FPS with dynamic resolution scaling to maintain performance.

Visual Quality Improvements

  • Increased world detail.
  • Improved texture quality in handheld mode to match docked mode.
  • Enhanced texture clarity through increased anisotropic filtering.
  • Improved lighting effects.
  • Added ambient occlusion.
  • Added higher-resolution shadows.

  • Fixed inconsistent taillight brightness across multiple car bodies.
  • Fixed Heatwave Decal display issues on the Lamborghini Urus.
  • Fixed RLCS ’25 and RLCS ’26 Decals appearing stretched on the Fennec ZR-F.
  • Fixed Chanoir Octane Decal overriding painted trim on certain car bodies.
  • Fixed distorted visuals on large screens in Champions Field.

Audio Fixes

  • Fixed BMW M4 GT3 Evo engine audio being louder than intended.
  • Fixed incorrect engine audio used by the Patty Wagon Car Body.
  • Fixed Hologlass Goal Explosion sound effects cutting off during gameplay.

Rocket League Version 2.64 is scheduled to release on January 22, 2026, at 4 PM PT, and January 23, 2026, at 12 AM UTC. The update is available on Epic Games Store, Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo platforms.
