ROG Xbox Ally Update Introduces Default Game Profiles in Preview

A new update for the ROG Xbox Ally introduces Default Game Profiles in preview, bringing automatic per-game optimization to supported titles. These curated profiles balance frame rate and power usage, delivering smoother gameplay and longer battery life without the need for manual tuning. More than 40 games are supported at launch, including major first-party releases, with additional titles to follow.

The update also refines the overall handheld experience with library loading improvements, faster navigation, better gamepad response, and enhanced cloud gaming performance. Additional quality of life updates, future upgrades, and expanded full-screen support continue Microsoft and ASUS’s commitment to improving handheld gaming.

New Feature: Default Game Profiles (Preview)

  • Automatically optimizes FPS and power consumption for 40 supported games.
  • Tailored profiles activate only on battery and adjust TDP and FPS limits per game.
  • Boosts power when FPS falls below target for smoother performance.
  • Limits FPS when above target to preserve battery life.
  • Can be toggled on or off via Armoury Crate Command Center Gare Bar widget.
