The Rogue Prince of Persia Anniversary Update is out now, delivering a major content drop that improves the game’s pacing and onboarding while adding the new Freeze element. Zagros and Aqueduct have also been compressed to reduce runback fatigue and get players into the action faster.
The update adds new gear, weapon affixes, a Run Stats Screen, new combat challenges, and rebalancing changes. It also includes a final boss rework, mob density adjustments, new medallion drops from elites, and a range of quality of life fixes.
Patch Notes
Core Systems and Pacing
- Difficulty and pacing have been tuned to provide less frustration early on and more room for mastery over time.
- Mandatory wallrun sections have been added to teach players the intended flow.
- Wallrunning now fills the Vayu bar, rewarding players for staying airborne.
- Zagros and Aqueduct have been compressed to reduce runback fatigue and reach the action faster.
Freeze Element
- The new Freeze element has been added.
- Freeze stacks twice to completely freeze enemies and interrupt their attacks.
- The frozen state ends with a heavy damage burst.
- Enemies in water receive double Freeze stacks.
- A swift Kick instantly shatters frozen enemies for tactical repositioning.
New Gear and Stats
- A Run Stats Screen has been added to track performance and runtime in the Oasis and at the end of successful runs.
- Weapons can now spawn with up to four affix slots, ranging from Bronze to Diamond.
- Weapon affixes can be rerolled at Astara’s Shop.
- New Critical Sharpener medallions have been added.
- Elites now drop medallions.
Rebalancing and Challenges
- Critical-hit builds have been rebalanced to reduce excessive scaling.
- New Suspicious Chest combat arenas have been added as chaotic combat challenges.
- The final boss has been reworked, making Nogai more dangerous.
- Mob density has been reworked.
Quality of Life
- A large number of quality of life fixes have been included in the Anniversary Update.
The Rogue Prince of Persia Anniversary Update is out now and is available on PC. The game was developed by Evil Empire and published by Ubisoft, with the Anniversary Update released on September 17, 2026.
