Samson A Tyndalston Story is set to arrive on consoles after its initial PC launch, with developer Liquid Swords confirming plans to bring the game to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X S at a later date. The update comes directly from studio founder Christofer Sundberg, who addressed questions surrounding console versions.
In a statement shared on social media, Sundberg explained that while the game is already running on consoles, the team is currently focused on completing the PC version. “We get a lot of questions about console versions of @SamsonMcCray. The honest (and we’re always honest) answer is that we don’t know when,” he said. He added, “Once the game is out on April 8, we’ll get cracking on the console versions.”
Sundberg also noted that additional work is required before the console versions can be finalized, including platform holder submissions and certification processes. For now, no release window has been confirmed for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series versions.
Samson A Tyndalston Story is scheduled to launch on April 8, 2026, for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, priced at $24.99. Developed by Liquid Swords, a studio founded by Just Cause creator Christofer Sundberg, the game is described as a noir-inspired open-world brawler set in a 1990s-style city.
The story follows Samson McCray as he navigates a high-pressure daily survival loop while attempting to pay off a growing debt and protect his sister. The gameplay focuses on melee combat and vehicular encounters, with a more condensed campaign structure designed to emphasize intensity over scale.
While console players will have to wait, the developer has indicated that bringing Samson to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series platforms remains a priority once the PC release is complete.
