Tribute Games has released the first public demo for Scott Pilgrim EX, giving players an early look at the upcoming brawler ahead of its full launch on March 3. The demo is available now on Steam and will also be featured during Steam Next Fest from February 23 through March 2.
Set in a stylized version of Toronto, Scott Pilgrim EX invites players to experience the opening portion of the game through its first two quests. The demo can be played solo or cooperatively with friends, offering a preview of the side-scrolling action that Tribute Games is known for, following its work on titles such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge and Marvel Cosmic Invasion.
Players can choose from four characters in the demo: Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers, Lucas Lee, and Roxy Richter. These fighters represent part of the full game’s seven-character roster. Each character features a distinct moveset and combat style, encouraging multiple playthroughs to explore different approaches to combat.
The demo showcases battles against a variety of enemies, including robots, demons, and vegan adversaries drawn from the Scott Pilgrim universe. According to Tribute Games, the full release will feature a brand new story co-written by series creator Bryan Lee O’Malley alongside the development team. The game will also include new music from Anamanaguchi, a returning contributor to the franchise.
Scott Pilgrim EX is scheduled to launch on March 3 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2.
