SEGA Bringing Four Unannounced Titles to Tokyo Game Show 2025

by Salal Awan

SEGA has unveiled its lineup for the upcoming Tokyo Game Show 2025, confirming a mix of anticipated releases and a surprising tease of four unannounced projects. The publisher revealed the list through its official event showcase schedule, with several notable entries accompanied by four blank slots, hinting at announcements set to take place during the exhibition.

The lineup so far includes Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, Persona 3 Reload for Nintendo Switch 2, Virtua Fighter 5, and Persona 5 The Phantom X. These known titles are joined by four mystery projects yet to be revealed, suggesting that SEGA intends to make the most of the spotlight at Makuhari Messe later this month.

TGS 2025 will run from September 25 through September 28, with business days on September 25 and 26, and public access across September 27 and 28. The event remains one of the largest annual showcases for the Japanese video game industry, attracting publishers from around the globe, including EA with EA Sports FC 26, Gearbox with Borderlands 4, and GSC Game World presenting STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

Among SEGA’s confirmed titles, Sonic Racing CrossWorlds has drawn particular attention. Developed by Sonic Team with contributions from the Initial D Arcade development staff, the game introduces a “CrossWorld” mechanic allowing racers to seamlessly jump between different tracks mid-race. It is set for release on September 25, 2025, across all major platforms, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version arriving later.

Another key title is Persona 5 The Phantom X, a mobile and PC spin-off developed by Black Wings Game Studio. Released earlier this year worldwide, the game combines social simulation elements with dungeon crawling, while also featuring gacha mechanics for summoning cognitive versions of familiar characters. Persona 3 Reload is also expected to generate buzz, as its arrival on Nintendo Switch 2 marks a significant step in Atlus’ broader multiplatform strategy.

The biggest question now concerns the four hidden projects in SEGA’s lineup. With no hints provided, speculation ranges from new installments of beloved franchises to entirely fresh IP. Given SEGA’s recent emphasis on revitalizing legacy properties alongside pushing new ideas, either option remains possible.
