Sega Promises Resolution Fix For Shinobi: Art of Vengeance On Nintendo Switch

by Ali Haider

Sega has acknowledged concerns from players regarding the performance of Shinobi: Art of Vengeance on the Nintendo Switch and confirmed that a patch is in development to improve the game’s resolution.

In a statement shared via the company’s official account, Sega wrote, “Thank you to all the fans for supporting SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance! We are aware of the feedback related to the resolution of the game on Nintendo Switch and are currently working on a patch to address this. It will take a little time before we are able to deploy the patch, so please stay tuned for future updates on timing. We really appreciate your patience in the meantime!”

The announcement comes just days after the launch of the long-awaited reboot. Developed by Lizardcube and released on August 29, 2025, Shinobi: Art of Vengeance revisits Sega’s classic action-platforming series with modern visuals and combat systems. While the game has released across multiple platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, Switch owners have reported noticeable resolution issues compared to other versions.

Sega has not yet shared a release window for the update, but the publisher has reassured fans that improvements are on the way. For now, Switch players may need to wait before experiencing the game at its intended level of visual quality.

The Shinobi franchise dates back to the late 1980s and has remained a key part of Sega’s legacy. With Art of Vengeance, the company has attempted to modernize the series while retaining its fast-paced, stylish combat. Despite the technical hurdles on Switch, the announcement of a forthcoming resolution patch suggests Sega is committed to refining the experience across all platforms.
