SHINOBI Art of Vengeance Receives New DLC and Free Update

SEGA has released the SEGA Villains Stage DLC for SHINOBI Art of Vengeance, introducing a new set of themed stages, bosses, and additional content inspired by iconic franchises. Players will face off against recognizable antagonists while gaining access to fresh abilities, skins, and music tracks tied to each villain.

Alongside the paid DLC, a free update is now available for all players. It introduces a challenging Hardcore Mode, expanded tutorial access, and several quality of life improvements aimed at refining gameplay and usability.

SEGA Villains Stage DLC

  • Added five new stages featuring SEGA Villains themed environments
  • Introduced three new bosses
    • Majima from the Yakuza Like a Dragon series
    • Dr. Eggman from the Sonic the Hedgehog series
    • Death Adder from Golden Axe
  • Added three new ninpos with unique combat abilities
  • Included three new character skins inspired by villain themes
  • Added six new music tracks inspired by SEGA Villain IPs
  • Introduced two Boss Rush modes featuring the newly added bosses

New Features

  • Added Hardcore Mode
    • New high difficulty setting designed for advanced players
    • Adjusted enemy damage, healing mechanics, and enemy placement
    • Introduced new boss attack patterns
    • Mode is only selectable when starting a new game

Quality of Life Updates

  • Added configurable options for gameplay effects
    • Hit stop
    • Hit flash
    • Camera shake
    • Character outlines
  • Increased map display area within stages for improved visibility
  • Fixed an issue where Joe’s position could appear misaligned on the map

Tutorials

  • Added a new menu option to review previously encountered tutorial information

SHINOBI Art of Vengeance launched on August 29, 2025, and is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The SEGA Villains Stage DLC released on April 3, 2026, and is available as a standalone purchase or as part of the Digital Deluxe Edition.
