Silent Hill 1 Remake Reportedly Targeted for Reveal at TGA 2025

by Salal Awan

A recent report suggests that the Silent Hill 1 Remake may be revealed at The Game Awards 2025, although this information has not been confirmed. The claim comes from a reliable Japanese source, according to MasGamers.

The broader context surrounding the report is tied to Konami’s renewed focus on revitalizing the Silent Hill franchise. The company currently has multiple projects underway, with two major titles forming the center of its efforts. Among them is the officially announced but still unreleased Silent Hill 1 Remake. This project is being led by Bloober Team, which previously handled the Silent Hill 2 remake. The new version of the original 1999 game features a storyline focused on Harry Mason’s search for his daughter, Cheryl, in a town with an unsettling atmosphere. It was announced in June 2025 and is currently in full production, with a release window expected sometime in 2027.

Alongside this project, Konami is also supporting Silent Hill: Townfall, a separate narrative-driven survival horror entry. Developed by Screen Burn, formerly known as No Code, and published by Annapurna Interactive, the title aims to deliver a different style of psychological horror within the series framework. There has been no official confirmation about its platforms, but retail listings have circulated suggesting a March 26, 2026, release for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The rumor should be taken with a significant grain of salt. The announcement may be simply a CG reveal, similar to the initial announcement of Silent Hill 2. The news about the Silent Hill 1 remake featured no actual footage and only displayed the logo. Therefore, Konami might make a more substantial announcement at a major event like The Game Awards 2025.

The Game Awards 2025, hosted by Geoff Keighley, will be held on December 11, 2025, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The event will be available to live stream on YouTube and Twitch.
