Silent Hill 2 remake actress Salome Gunnarsdottir has confirmed that she has not been approached by Konami or Bloober Team for the Born From a Wish DLC.
During a live stream on Twitch, Salome Gunnarsdottir, who played the role of Mary Shepherd-Sunderland and Maria in the Silent Hill 2 remake, has revealed that she has not been approached by Konami or Bloober Team for the Born From a Wish DLC. This suggests that the new version of the survival horror game may not receive the DLC for a while, if at all.

Last month, known insider and horror game enthusiast Dusk Golem had claimed that Bloober Team is preparing a patch that will optimize the game for the PS55 Pro, while also working on new DLC. Gunnarsdottir’s statement indicates that the latter is unlikely to be Born From a Wish, the beloved side scenario first seen in special editions of the original game. For those unfamiliar, Born From a Wish shifts the perspective from James Sunderland to Maria, exploring her story prior to the events of the main game. The scenario depicts her struggle with despair, her encounter with Ernest Baldwin in a secluded mansion, and ultimately her decision to continue seeking James.
Released in October 2024, Silent Hill 2 Remake was developed by Bloober Team and published by Konami Digital Entertainment. Serving as a modern reimagining of the 2001 classic, the remake closely followed James Sunderland’s descent into the fog-ridden town after receiving a letter from his late wife. The project was spearheaded by Bloober Team creative director Mateusz Lenart, with oversight from Konami’s Motoi Okamoto. Series veterans Masahiro Ito and Akira Yamaoka also returned, lending their expertise to creature design and music composition respectively. Since its launch, the game has sold more than two million copies worldwide and has been widely praised for its faithful recreation of the original’s atmosphere, the quality of its visuals, and standout performances.
