The acclaimed Silent Hill 2 Remake is reportedly joining the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium catalogs later this month, according to reliable Dealabs leaker Bilbill-kun. The leaker, known for accurately revealing PS Plus lineups ahead of official announcements, has shared details suggesting that the horror classic’s modern reimagining will headline Sony’s October 2025 additions.

Originally released on October 8, 2024, as a PlayStation 5 console exclusive alongside a PC version, Silent Hill 2 Remake is expected to become available to subscribers on October 21. This timing coincides precisely with the one-year anniversary of the game’s launch, prompting speculation that its PS5 exclusivity period may be ending. Industry observers believe this could signal potential ports to other platforms, such as Xbox Series consoles or the Nintendo Switch 2. Reports also suggest that the release may include a new PS5 Pro enhancement patch and additional downloadable content (DLC).

Beyond Silent Hill 2 Remake, the PS Plus lineup for October 2025 brings a diverse mix of genres across the service’s tiers. For PS Plus Essential subscribers, Sony has already confirmed that Alan Wake 2, Cocoon, and Goat Simulator 3 are available to claim from October 7 until November 4. Alan Wake 2, developed by Remedy Entertainment, headlines the selection as a PlayStation 5 exclusive and has received critical acclaim for its psychological storytelling and atmospheric design. Meanwhile, Cocoon and Goat Simulator 3 offer creative and comedic alternatives for both PS4 and PS5 users.

In addition to new arrivals, several titles are scheduled to leave the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalogs this month. Sony has confirmed that six games will depart on October 21, including Battlefield 1, Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Ecto Edition, Tour de France 2023, and two entries from The Dark Pictures AnthologyHouse of Ashes and The Devil In Me. The list also includes The Last Clockwinder, marking a significant rotation as Sony continues to refresh its subscription offerings.

To complement these changes, Sony plans to expand its PlayStation Plus Premium Classics catalog later this year with several fan-favorite titles. Among the additions are Tekken 3 from the original PlayStation, Soulcalibur III from the PlayStation 2 era, and Tomb Raider Anniversary, an enhanced remake of the iconic adventure game. These classics are expected to appeal to long-time fans eager to revisit defining moments from gaming history.

If the rumors from Dealabs prove accurate, Silent Hill 2 Remake will serve as the centerpiece of October’s PS Plus Extra lineup. The addition not only strengthens the service’s horror game offerings ahead of Halloween but also suggests that Konami’s timed exclusivity agreement with Sony may be drawing to a close. While an official announcement from Sony has yet to be made, the timing and source credibility make this one of the more convincing leaks of recent months.
