Silent Hill 2 Update 1.05 Drops With Steam Cloud Save Support and Labyrinth Fix

by Ali Haider

The latest hotfix for Silent Hill 2 (version 1.05), released on October 25, 2024, addresses a major progression issue in the Labyrinth level and introduces Steam Cloud save functionality for PC players. The Labyrinth bug, which caused some players to encounter a progression blocker after saving in the area following Toluca Prison, has been fixed by implementing a safeguard that ensures all necessary game triggers activate correctly.

Additionally, the update brings Steam Cloud save support, allowing PC players on Steam to back up their progress online. With this feature, game data will now sync automatically with the most recent cloud save. However, this syncing process will replace the local save if the cloud data is newer, so players are advised to back up local saves manually if they wish to keep multiple versions.
