Silent Hill f Reversible Cover Revealed, May Be Limited to Pre Orders or Day One Editions

by Ali Haider

Silent Hill f is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious entries in Konami’s long-running horror series, and new details continue to emerge ahead of launch. Recent reports suggest that the game will feature a reversible cover, offering players two distinct artworks to choose from. One depicts the protagonist holding a pipe, echoing the official key art seen across promotional material, while the other provides a more artistic interpretation of one of the grotesque demons haunting the game’s world. It is not yet clear whether the reversible cover will be widely available or restricted to pre-order and day one copies.

Meanwhile, Japanese publication Famitsu has published the first major review for Silent Hill f, awarding the game a strong 36 out of 40. Each of the four reviewers scored it 9 out of 10, making it the highest-rated entry in the series to date. Previous classics such as the original Silent Hill and Silent Hill 2 both earned 34/40, while the recent remake of Silent Hill 2 came close with 35/40.

According to Famitsu, a single playthrough will take around 12 to 13 hours, though the haunting story may encourage multiple runs. The review describes the narrative as tragic and chilling, set in the rural Japanese town of Ebisugaoka during the 1960s. Praise was directed at the unsettling setting, the fusion of grotesque and beautiful visuals, and Akira Yamaoka’s soundtrack, which the reviewers credited for heightening the game’s psychological atmosphere.

Technical details for the release have also surfaced. Database listings confirm that the PlayStation 5 version of Silent Hill f will require a 36.637 GB download (version 01.001.000). Pre-loads will begin on September 21, 2025, for the Deluxe Edition, while the Standard Edition pre-load follows on September 23, 2025.

Developed by NeoBards Entertainment and published by Konami Digital Entertainment, Silent Hill f transports players to a fog-filled Japanese town where they assume the role of Hinako Shimizu, a high school student struggling to survive against otherworldly horrors. The blend of puzzle-solving, survival mechanics, and psychological terror aims to offer both a fresh direction and a faithful continuation of the franchise’s legacy.
