Six Days in Fallujah Autumn Update Overhauls Missions, AI, and Core Systems

The Autumn Update for Six Days in Fallujah delivers a sweeping set of improvements across mission design, AI behavior, training content, and core gameplay systems. Two major campaign missions have been rebuilt with clearer objectives, sharper pacing, fewer forced tutorials, and more opportunities for tactical decision-making. The update also introduces the Wounded state and a real-time Command Overlay, adding greater depth to firefights and team coordination.

AI enhancements play a central role in this patch, with major upgrades to Fireteam pathfinding, enemy responsiveness, and room-clearing behavior. Training simulations have been reworked to teach fundamentals more effectively, while extensive HUD, graphics, and performance improvements round out the update. Hundreds of bug fixes resolve issues across animations, networking, missions, UI, and more.

    • Completely new location with rebuilt buildings

Mission Pacing

  • All missions re-tuned to create downtime between phases

  • Reduced cases of players being shot immediately upon mission load

Improved Fireteam AI

  • Pathfinding
    • Replaced Unreal navigation with a third-party solution
    • Significantly fewer nav mesh gaps
    • Smoother AI movement with reduced collision

    • Improved positioning and firing behavior
    • Better room clearing with proper door, staircase, and window navigation
  • Combat Response
    • Reduced cases of not engaging enemies or repeating lethal actions

Enemy AI

  • Refactored all enemy types
  • Fixed low fps “slideshow” animations
  • Reduced spawning in player view
  • Tuned visibility and accuracy
  • Adjusted accuracy based on player distance
  • Slight delay added to target acquisition

Training

  • Updated simulation covering movement, shooting, orientation, and GO Commands
  • Training now appears in the campaign timeline
  • Added new Training Scenarios
    • Short, scaling encounters
    • Introduce emergent objectives such as Black Flag, Armory, Sniper, and Mortars

Gameplay Improvements

  • Added Wounded state
    • Gradual transitions from Active to Bleeding to Wounded to Incapacitated
    • Limited movement and pistol use
    • Cannot fire while being revived
    • Requires teammate or Fireteam AI for recovery

The Autumn Update for Six Days in Fallujah is available now for the Steam Early Access version, originally released on June 22, 2023. The full release is planned for late 2025, with console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S expected to launch alongside the final PC release.
