Ubisoft has deployed a new Skull and Bones maintenance update on March 10 aimed at addressing a wide range of gameplay issues across the live service pirate title. The update primarily focuses on bug fixes affecting loot interactions, Kraken encounters, contracts, and several gameplay systems.
Several fixes also target world events, ship loadouts, and store-related issues that prevented players from accessing certain rewards or items. The update further improves combat behavior, UI elements, and stability across multiple game systems.
Patch Notes
Loot
- Fixed an issue where loot prompts from ocean salvage appeared with delays
- Developers confirmed the root cause of the delay has been resolved, with further improvements to event visibility and interaction controls under review
Kraken
- Fixed an issue preventing the Kraken from dropping Ascended tier rewards as expected
- Fixed reward balancing and scaling issues for Kraken encounters
- Fixed a bug where an invisible Kraken tentacle could damage player ships
- Fixed Kraken weakpoints failing to correctly register weapon hits
- Fixed a respawn issue where player ships could appear inside the Kraken during Phase 2 after sinking nearby
- Fixed Kraken tentacles sliding unnaturally while approaching players during combat
Contracts
- Fixed an issue preventing progress in the Into the Lion’s Den contract due to all options appearing greyed out
- Fixed Shiny Horrors contract becoming stuck in the journal
- Fixed Plunder and Peril contract becoming stuck in the journal
- Fixed Founding repeatable contracts remaining in the journal during World Tier 1 in Week 5
Pinnacle Store
- Fixed an issue where players could redeem only one chest type from the Pinnacle Store
- Fixed reclaiming a blueprint causing loading or rotation issues in the Pinnacle Store
- Fixed the Woundcaller weapon missing from the Pinnacle Store
- Fixed players being unable to purchase Pinnacle Store items following the February 24 maintenance
Ship Loadout
- Fixed an exploit allowing SR19 bosses to be defeated too quickly using Inverted Flag Rack furniture
- Fixed incorrect Gear Score displayed for newly added rare furniture
- Fixed Leyden Vault Array AOE perk not functioning correctly
- Fixed Rampant Carriage Hold affecting reload speed only for the front weapon instead of all applicable weapons
- Fixed aura buff range for Frigates and Corvettes being smaller than intended
World Events
- Fixed an issue where no convoys spawned during the Sunken Profits world event
- Fixed the Founding time limited event not extending to Week 6 as intended
- Fixed Megafort textures failing to render properly at long distances
UI and UX
- Fixed Seasonal Challenge name incorrectly displaying Kraken’s Might instead of Kraken
- Fixed returning or interrupted players being unable to skip Infamy quest steps despite meeting requirements
- Fixed ascension level category filter not functioning when sorting weapons on the docking screen
- Fixed misleading Search In Combat prompt appearing on shipwrecks without enemy activity
- Fixed Rocket Boost I node unlocking by default without Seasonal Journey progression
Vanity
- Fixed floating pet platform visual issue on the Corvette when ship health dropped below 25 percent
- Fixed Divine Slayer nameplate appearing instead of Sacred Hunter in Kraken Player Set preview
Inventory and Items
- Fixed an issue preventing players from opening Vikram Kingpin event chests due to an excessive value limit
Store
- Fixed missing preview button for The Sunken Beyond figurehead in the store upgrade tab
Stability
- Fixed an issue allowing the Manufactory Raid to be abandoned after respawning while still inside the event zone
Combat
- Fixed Vikram Rajan curse effect covering the entire ship hull and obstructing visibility
- Fixed Blightmaw projectile speed being slower than intended
Death Tides
- Fixed groups disbanding when the leader selected rematch after a Death Tides match launched from the main menu
Helm Empire
- Fixed a freeze occurring when invoking Helm upgrades on the Helm Map
Localization
- Fixed several incorrect or inconsistent translations related to Year 2 Season 4 content
Known Issues
- Supply Network may not function or provide orders correctly
- Flags of Deceit contract progression may fail due to ships not spawning
- Ship loadouts may be removed and sent to cargo
- Hostile Tides events may not spawn ships or wrecks
- Precious Pearls contract may not be completable due to missing ship spawns
Skull and Bones launched on February 16, 2024. The naval action RPG from Ubisoft is currently in Year 2 Season 4: Eye of the Beast, and is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store, and Steam.
