The Nintendo Switch 2 port of Bethesda Softworks’ action role-playing game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, reportedly has a major input lag problem.
Players of the Nintendo Switch 2 port of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim are reporting that it suffers from severe input latency, possibly the worst ever felt in a game. It prompted Reddit user AZURE-Spirit to perform a test of their own, revealing some fascinating results.

The above test was performed on version 1.7.72.0 of the game. The Reddit user recorded the video at 120fps and the timer is running on a 240hz monitor. They admitted that while it is an amateur test, the results are valid within a margin of error. Based on the findings, the Nintendo Switch 2 edition of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim suffers from a full quarter second i.e. 250 ms, of lag, if not more. between the player’s input and the display reflecting said input.
Some players reported that disabling both motion controls and mouse controls helps in reducing input latency in the Nintendo Switch 2 edition of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Unfortunately, this is merely placebo, as the delay remains the same even on the menus. Furthermore, playing the game both docked and undocked results in the same degree of latency.
In related news, it was recently reported that owners of a physical copy of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on Nintendo Switch may be able to access the Switch 2 version of the Anniversary Edition without purchasing it again digitally. While not officially documented by Bethesda or Nintendo, the method has gained attention for its clarity and for how consistently it has worked for users attempting the upgrade. More details here.
