Sony Interactive Entertainment and San Diego Studio’s baseball game series, MLB: The Show, appears to be headed to PC.
Sony Interactive Entertainment has posted a new job listing that strongly hints at the MLB: The Show series heading over to PC. The listing, published by San Diego Studio, the development team behind the series, seeks a Senior Graphics PC Programmer to work on a “AAA PC title.”

While the listing doesn’t mention MLB: The Show, San Diego Studio’s primary focus has always been the popular baseball sim series, which has only been available on consoles. The hiring post lists responsibilities such as developing and optimizing real-time rendering systems for PC, ensuring compatibility across a range of hardware, and leveraging platform-specific features like NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR, ray tracing, and Variable Rate Shading. There’s also mention of performance debugging and engine-level optimizations. These details suggest that the team is preparing to deliver enhanced graphical features on PC.
MLB: The Show has steadily expanded its platform reach in recent years. Originally a PlayStation exclusive series, it arrived on Xbox platforms in 2021 and soon after to Nintendo Switch. PC has remained the only major platform that has yet to receive an MLB title.
The most recent entry in the series, MLB The Show 25, was released on March 18, 2025. Unlike earlier entries, this release is exclusive to the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S platforms, bringing support for PS4 and Xbox One to an end. The cover features star players Paul Skenes, Elly De La Cruz, and Gunnar Henderson. A major overhaul was introduced to the Road to the Show career mode. Players now begin their journey in high school and can compete for one of eight officially licensed college baseball programs before entering the MLB Draft. The available teams include Cal State Fullerton Titans, LSU Tigers baseball, South Carolina Gamecocks baseball, TCU Horned Frogs baseball, Tennessee Volunteers baseball, Texas Longhorns baseball, UCLA Bruins baseball, and Vanderbilt Commodores baseball.
