Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially announced that its next State of Play broadcast will take place this Wednesday, September 24. The presentation will run for more than 35 minutes and feature a mix of updates from PlayStation Studios as well as third-party and indie partners.
The event will be streamed live on YouTube and Twitch at 2 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. ET / 11 p.m. CEST, with Japanese audiences able to tune in the following morning at 6 a.m. JST. Sony has confirmed that the showcase will include an extended look at Saros, Housemarque’s upcoming title slated for release next year. Nearly five minutes of gameplay footage captured on PlayStation 5 will be presented, offering the first deep dive into the mysterious new project.
Brett Elston, Director of Content Communications at Sony Interactive Entertainment, described the show as a chance for fans to see “new looks at anticipated third-party and indie titles, plus updates from some of our teams at PlayStation Studios.” While the full lineup remains under wraps, the length of the broadcast suggests a mix of new reveals and extended gameplay segments.
This announcement follows weeks of speculation. Industry insider NateTheHate had hinted that Sony’s next broadcast would arrive “next week,” while journalist Jeff Grubb previously noted during Giant Bomb’s Game Mess Mornings podcast that Sony was preparing a showcase toward the end of September. Today’s confirmation puts the rumors to rest, setting clear expectations for fans eager to see what is next for PlayStation.
With more than half an hour of announcements promised, anticipation is running high as players wait to see how PlayStation plans to close out 2025 and set the stage for the year ahead.
