The pre-load date and download size for EA and Hazelight Studios’ upcoming action-adventure game, Split Fiction, have been revealed.
PlayStationSize on Twitter/X has revealed the pre-load date and download size for Split Fiction on PS5, courtesy of recent database entries made to PlayStation servers. The action-adventure game will take up a large amount of storage space. Those with limited available space on the internal storage drive are advised to clear up some space in advance. It goes without saying that storage expansion options are available for those who need them.

Pre-load Date
Split Fiction will not be available for pre-load, as it is not up for pre-order on the PlayStation Store. Players can downloaded the game starting from launch day on March 6, 2025. The day one download for Split Fiction on PS5 will come with the latest update i.e. version 01.100.000, pre-installed for anyone who purchases a digital copy of the game. Those who purchase it on disc may need to download an update, however.
Meanwhile, the review embargo for Split Fiction is also expected to be lifted on launch day. While the exact time has not been confirmed, it will likely follow typical patterns, with the embargo lifting at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET / 9 AM CET.
In related news, Split Fiction has been rated Advisory 16 (suitable for ages 16 and above) by Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). This rating indicates that the game contains moderate violence, bloodshed, and occasional strong language.
Split Fiction is set to be released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It invites players to step into the roles of Mio and Zoe, two aspiring writers trapped in a glitch-ridden simulation. The protagonists must work together to make it through a merging of their fictional worlds by solving puzzles and overcoming enemies in order to escape the simulation. The game puts emphasis on teamwork through exploration, combat, and problem-solving.
