A new SpongeBob SquarePants game titled Titans of the Tide has been leaked ahead of its official reveal, with the Xbox Store listing providing a full overview of the game’s content, features, editions, and release plans. Developed by Purple Lamp GmbH and published by THQ Nordic, the game is scheduled for release on November 18, 2025, and will be available across modern platforms, including Xbox Series X|S.
Titans of the Tide brings players back to Bikini Bottom for what is described as the franchise’s “ghostliest” adventure yet. The story sees the Flying Dutchman and King Neptune locked in a supernatural battle, leading to chaos across the undersea world. Players will control both SpongeBob and Patrick, switching between the two to solve platforming challenges, battle haunted enemies, and explore iconic locations such as Neptune’s Palace and Mount Bikini.
Gameplay will make use of each character’s unique abilities. Patrick, in particular, gains several new skills, including the ability to grapple and burrow. The game is fully voiced by the original cast of the animated series, staying faithful to the show’s tone and humor. Boss encounters with characters like Hibernation Sandy, King Neptune, and the Flying Dutchman suggest a more ambitious campaign than previous entries.
Three digital editions have been revealed through the leak:
- Standard Edition ($39.99): Includes the base game and the Natural Costume Pack, which unlocks pre-order costumes such as Butt Flap Bob and Birthday Suit Patrick.
- Ghostly Digital Edition ($54.99): Includes the base game, the costume pack, and the Tidal Season Pass, which is expected to add future downloadable content.
- Bikini Bottom Bundle ($89.99, discounted to $80.99): A collection that includes Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated, The Cosmic Shake, and Titans of the Tide, alongside their respective DLCs.
This marks the third major SpongeBob game developed by Purple Lamp following the success of Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated and The Cosmic Shake. Judging by the content and price point, Titans of the Tide aims to be a robust mid-tier release with strong post-launch support.
The Xbox Store listing appears to have gone live prematurely, which could mean that an official announcement is imminent, possibly during the THQ Nordic showcase today.
Earlier this year, Titans of the Tide was first spotted through a listing on the German USK ratings board, which initially revealed the project’s title. With this new leak, fans now have a clearer picture of what to expect from the game. More official details, including platform-specific features and gameplay footage, are likely to follow soon.
