Earlier this month, Bethesda shared new details on upcoming Starfield content, outlining both a major free update and a new story expansion scheduled to arrive in April alongside the PS5 version. The centerpiece of the free update, titled Free Lanes, focuses on expanding interplanetary travel. It introduces a cruise mode that allows players to move between planets at high speeds without interruption, while still being able to walk around their ship, interact with crew, and manage interiors. Travel is no longer passive either, as dynamic encounters can occur mid-journey, ranging from combat situations to unusual discoveries in space.
