The rumored Nintendo Switch 2 port of Bethesda Game Studios’ action role-playing game, Starfield, has allegedly been delayed, and may not be released at all.
Known insider Shinobi602 took to the Reset Era forums to respond to a fellow member who wondered whether the rumored Nintendo Switch 2 version of Starfield will see the light of day alongside the PS5 version’s alleged release on April 7, 2025. In his brief response, he said that the Switch 2 port has been delayed, and there’s no telling whether it will ever arrive on store shelves. “That’s been pushed out. And might not even come out at all,” he said.
Polish insider Graczdari told PPE.pl that both the standard and Premium editions of Starfield will be released for PlayStation 5 on April 7, 2026. If true, the announcement is likely coming soon, possibly during the State of Play presentation rumored to happen later this month.
Having already revealed the port of Microsoft Flight Simulator for PS5 and prepared the physical version of Oblivion Remastered, Graczdari told us that Starfield in both the standard and Premium versions will debut on PlayStation 5 consoles on April 7, 2026.
A few months prior, multiple sources claimed that Bethesda Game Studios had invited members of the press and content creators to attend a presentation on upcoming content for Starfield, including a 2.0 update. Some of those who attended the presentation appeared excited for the game’s future, while others warned that although things were undoubtedly being improved, expectations should be tempered as the update isn’t on the scale of Cyberpunk 2077 2.0.
As per the information gathered, Bethesda Game Studios has a number of improvements coming to Starfield via its 2.0 update that are specifically aimed at addressing the most common complaints like load screens. Traces of some of these improvements have been spotted via a data mine of the game’s files. As for the release schedule, sources claim that both update 2.0 and DLC content for Starfield will be arriving later than expected. Though, an actual release window has yet to be shared.
