Steam Deck OLED Getting Price Hike March 6 Across Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan

by Greg Martin

KOMODO has confirmed that the Steam Deck OLED will see a price increase in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan starting March 6, 2026. The revision affects both available storage models and reflects rising logistics expenses and recent foreign exchange fluctuations, according to a press release published by Famitsu.

In Japan, the 512GB model will increase from ¥84,800 to ¥99,800, while the 1TB version will rise from ¥99,800 to ¥114,800. Each configuration will see a ¥15,000 increase once the new pricing takes effect.

Similar adjustments are being made in South Korea. The 512GB model will move from KRW 839,000 to KRW 898,000, and the 1TB model will increase from KRW 989,000 to KRW 1,048,000.

In Taiwan, the changes are more modest. The 512GB variant will rise from TWD 18,880 to TWD 18,980, while the 1TB model will increase from TWD 21,980 to TWD 22,480.

KOMODO stated that the decision followed repeated internal evaluations in response to continued increases in shipping and logistics costs since the Steam Deck launch, along with currency market volatility. The company emphasized that the revision applies only to Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. Pricing in Hong Kong will remain unchanged, as the impact of these factors has been limited in that market.

The updated prices will be implemented across the affected regions beginning March 6, 2026.
