Stellar Blade 2 Is Happening, Shift Up Officially Confirms

Stellar Blade 2, the sequel to Sony Interactive Entertainment and Shift Up’s 2024 action-adventure game, has officially been confirmed by the developer.

In its Investor Relations presentation on May 16, 2025, developer Shift Up confirmed the existence of Stellar Blade 2. Based on the company’s IP expansion strategy, the game may be released sometime before or around the year 2027.

Shift Up’s core strategy going forward involves developing games that receive long-term support from the global gaming community, can capitalize on the potential of live service, and are of high quality. The company plans on expanding upon its IP with high visibility, and the development of a sequel to Stellar Blade is a part of this initiative.

The presentation recognized Stellar Blade as a game with unequivocal global commercial and critical success as a AAA franchise Shift Up is pleased with the IP, as it has met the expectations of global users. The company highlighted its key strengths, including an original and narritive-rich universe, expressive and vast world for exploration, optimized graphics rendering, and stylish action with stunning visuals.

As for the upcoming PC version of Stellar Blade, which is a part of Shift Up’s platform expansion strategy for its IP, the company expects its sales to exceed those of the PS5 version, as, in its view, the platform has a higher market share compared to consoles with regards to AAA games. The developer is particularly observing trends, such as the significant expansion of the single-player action game market in the Asian game industry. It claims to have identified and analyzed both successful and under-performing cases of timed console exclusives released later on PC, and it is preparing to release the game in a way that ensures continued success in the PC market. This will include optimization, enhancing user convenience, adding supplementary content, and tailored marketing strategies. In particular, the company plans to optimize the game to ensure smooth gameplay even on handheld PCs, such as the Steam Deck.
