The developers behind Stellar Blade may be preparing to expand the game with a horror-themed update or downloadable content, if recent online hints are anything to go by. Shift Up, the South Korean studio behind the action-adventure title, posted a brief but curious message on the official Stellar Blade social media account that has stirred discussion among players.
The post featured the simple phrase, “In one week…” accompanied by a sparkling emoji and the game’s official hashtag. More intriguing, however, was the image attached to the post. It displayed a ruined corridor with crimson-colored walls that appeared almost blood-soaked, evoking the aesthetics of a classic horror film. While no official confirmation has been offered, fans are already speculating that this may point toward a Halloween-themed DLC or a special in-game event.
Released on April 26, 2024, for PlayStation 5 and later arriving on Windows in June 2025, Stellar Blade quickly earned praise for its visual design and fast-paced combat mechanics. The game follows Eve, the central protagonist, as she leads humanity’s fight against the alien Naytibas in a post-apocalyptic future.
The journey of Stellar Blade has been a notable one. Initially revealed in 2019 under the working title Project Eve, the title was later confirmed as a Sony Interactive Entertainment exclusive for PlayStation 5 in 2021, before officially adopting the name Stellar Blade in 2022. After a delay from its intended 2023 release, the game finally reached players in 2024, and by June 2025, it had surpassed three million copies sold worldwide.
Shift Up, founded by Kim Hyung-tae, is also working on a full sequel titled Stellar Blade 2. Yet, for now, all eyes are on the mysterious teaser. Whether this marks the arrival of a horror collaboration, seasonal event, or entirely new expansion, fans will not have to wait long to find out, as the studio has promised something in just a week’s time.
