The official X (formerly Twitter) account for Stellar Blade has been compromised, leading to unauthorized cryptocurrency advertisements being posted. This security breach was confirmed by the game’s director, Hyung-Tae Kim, who addressed the situation directly through his personal account on the platform.
In his public message, Kim stated, “Hello, this is Hyung-Tae Kim, Director of Stellar Blade. We have confirmed that the official Stellar Blade X (formerly Twitter) account has been compromised, resulting in unauthorized cryptocurrency advertisements being posted. Our team is working closely with X to restore the account as quickly as possible. Until we issue a formal notice of recovery, please disregard all content published from the account. Repeated reports could trigger an automated suspension, so we kindly ask for your patience and caution in this regard. We apologize for any concern this may cause and will resolve the situation without delay. Sincerely, Hyung-Tae Kim.”
Kim’s statement has served to reassure the community, especially as misinformation and unusual posts began circulating from the compromised account. The team at Shift Up is now working with the platform’s administrators to recover access, while also urging fans not to engage with or report the account excessively to avoid triggering automated penalties.
The security breach comes just weeks after Stellar Blade celebrated a major sales milestone. The action game, which debuted on PlayStation 5 and later expanded to PC, has now sold over three million copies worldwide. In celebration, developer Shift Up held a special event where it announced that development for a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Stellar Blade is officially underway.
Shift Up reportedly acquired official development kits for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and has already begun preliminary work on the port. The studio aims to tailor Stellar Blade to the platform’s unique features, including its portable design and lower power consumption, while maintaining the core visual and gameplay quality seen on the PS5 and PC versions.
In a gesture of appreciation and motivation, Shift Up gifted a Nintendo Switch 2 console to each of its approximately 300 employees. This move follows similar rewards the company has offered in the past, such as PlayStation 5 consoles and PS5 Pros for its staff. The studio has positioned this as part of its broader multi-platform expansion strategy.
