by Salal Awan

SHIFT UP has officially regained control of the Stellar Blade Twitter account following a prolonged hacking incident that saw the account used for cryptocurrency scams. The studio issued a formal apology to the community and assured fans that steps have been taken to prevent such breaches in the future.

In a message posted through the restored account, SHIFT UP stated, “We sincerely apologize for the long wait. Our official account has now been fully restored. We deeply reflect on this incident and will take every measure to ensure it never happens again.” The message, signed by SHIFT UP’s Studio EVE, was accompanied by the hashtags #StellarBlade, #OfficialAccount, and #SORRY, acknowledging the concerns raised by the community during the ordeal.

The security breach, which first came to light on July 14, had allowed unauthorized users to take control of the official Stellar Blade account. The hackers used the account to promote fraudulent cryptocurrency airdrops and suspicious sign-up offers, leading to widespread confusion and concern among fans.

Hyung-Tae Kim, the game’s director, addressed the community through his personal social media account on multiple occasions. He confirmed the hacking on July 19 and warned followers not to engage with any posts from the compromised account. He also revealed that the hackers had launched a deceptive website promoting fake cryptocurrency schemes, stressing that neither Stellar Blade nor SHIFT UP had any affiliation with such content.

Kim continued to update the community as the situation developed. On July 20, he reiterated that the studio was working closely with platform administrators to recover the account and asked fans for patience. He also advised against mass reporting of the compromised account, noting that automated reporting systems could trigger suspensions, further complicating the recovery efforts.

Throughout the hacking incident, the Stellar Blade community remained active and largely supportive. The transparency shown by Kim and SHIFT UP helped maintain trust among fans despite the prolonged security issue. The restoration of the official account marks the end of a concerning chapter for the studio and serves as a reminder of the persistent security threats facing major gaming brands in the digital era.
