Capcom has officially revealed the complete move set for Sagat, the iconic emperor of Muay Thai, ahead of his highly anticipated arrival in Street Fighter 6 on August 5, 2025. Marking his return as the first character of the Year 3 Character Pass, Sagat comes armed with his signature uppercuts, fireballs, and a host of new techniques designed to reinforce his status as a powerhouse of the roster.
Players who own the Year 3 Character Pass or the Year 3 Ultimate Pass will automatically gain access to Sagat and his accompanying stage, Proud Spire, on launch day. The passes also include future Year 3 characters, C. Viper, Alex, Ingrid, various color variations, and Drive Tickets. Pre-orders for the passes on the Nintendo Switch 2 are open until August 4.
Returning fans will feel right at home with Sagat’s classic arsenal. His High Tiger Shot uses a standard fireball input with medium or heavy punch, targeting standing opponents at varying speeds. The Overdrive (OD) version grants the ability to hit crouching opponents and is advantageous on block. Complementing this is the Low Tiger Shot, performed with a light punch, which naturally targets crouching foes, allowing Sagat players to keep their opponents guessing with his signature zoning style.
The Tiger Uppercut remains a cornerstone of Sagat’s anti-air toolkit. The heavy version can be charged for additional power, launching enemies with greater force. Meanwhile, the Tiger Knee Crush serves as an offensive leap that varies in distance depending on the button used, with the OD version enabling extended combos if it pushes the opponent against a wall.
Sagat also introduces a new multi-functional move called Tiger Nexus, a knee strike that can be chained into three distinct follow-ups: Mighty Tiger, an overhead attack that hits crouching opponents; Greedy Tiger, a plus-on-block move that misses crouching targets; and Nova Tiger, a launcher effective against both standing and crouching foes, which is also plus on block.
Super Arts further enhance Sagat’s gameplay options. His Level 1 Super Art, Tiger Cannon, fires a powerful shot that combos effectively after an OD Tiger Shot or Nova Tiger. His Level 2 Super Art, Savage Tiger, offers four unique follow-ups—Savage Tiger Raid for maximum damage, Savage Tiger Zenith for juggles, Savage Tiger Pendulum for position switching, and Savage Tiger Stomp for optimal pressure situations. Each variant is invincible on startup and offers distinct tactical advantages. His Level 3 Super Art, Tiger Vanquisher, delivers a brutal combination of kicks ending in a devastating uppercut, channeling the full force of his legendary power.
Nostalgic fans can unlock Sagat’s classic look from Street Fighter II through the World Tour mode by maximizing their bond with him or by purchasing it with Fighter Coins. His stage, Proud Spire, set in Thailand, features a reclining Buddha backdrop and will be available alongside his character release.
The Year 3 Character Pass promises continued content beyond Sagat’s debut. C. Viper will join the roster in autumn 2025, followed by Alex in early spring 2026, and Ingrid in late spring 2026. Each character will bring their own set of moves, customization options, and additional Drive Tickets for use within the game’s ecosystem.
With his commanding presence and versatile move set, Sagat’s entry marks a significant milestone for Street Fighter 6 in its third year, offering new strategies for seasoned players and a welcome challenge for those stepping into the ring with the Muay Thai emperor.
