Street Fighter 6 just got its 1.016 update, and it’s packed with changes to balance the game. They’ve tweaked defensive moves, especially those with invincibility and low-risk mechanics like Jump Cancels and some Crouching Heavy Kicks. Characters like Jamie, Ken, Cammy, Akuma, and M. Bison now have riskier Crouching Heavy Kicks if they get blocked. They also adjusted Jump Cancel mechanics to make them less effective against normal throws, pushing players towards a more aggressive playstyle while keeping the technique fair.
Besides gameplay tweaks, they fixed several technical issues to make the game run smoother. This includes changes to collision behaviors in corners, improvements to super armor interactions, and visual fixes for Overdrive techniques during Burnout recovery. These updates, along with individual character adjustments detailed on their website, show the devs are really committed to refining the game.
Street Fighter 6 Update 1.016 Patch Notes:

- Crouching Heavy Kick: Increased recovery and reduced pushback on block for Jamie, Ken, Cammy, Akuma, and M. Bison.
- Jump Cancels: Adjusted mechanics to prevent avoiding normal throws followed by special move counterattacks. Command throws remain unaffected.
Bug Fixes
- Collision Pushbox Behavior: Resolved unexpected movement in corners when switching positions with airborne opponents.
- Super Armor Hitbox: Fixed an issue where non-super-armored parts absorbed attacks during hitstop.
