Capcom has announced record breaking results for Street Fighter League: Pro-JP 2025, with the league’s Grand Final event delivering the highest paid livestream viewership and on-site ticket sales in the competition’s history. The milestone highlights continued growth for Street Fighter 6 as a global esports title and sets the stage for major expansions to Capcom’s competitive ecosystem in the coming years.
The Street Fighter League: Pro-JP 2025 Grand Final took place on January 31, 2026, at Pacifico Yokohama in Japan. According to Capcom, combined paid viewership from both Japanese and English livestreams, alongside in-person attendance, reached all-time highs for the league. After a closely contested series of matches, Team REJECT emerged as the season champion, securing a 9 million yen prize and earning a qualification spot for the Street Fighter League world finals scheduled for March.
Building on this momentum, Capcom confirmed that Street Fighter League: Pro-JP 2026 will once again feature 12 teams split across two divisions, with six teams per division competing for the national championship. In an effort to nurture younger talent and broaden the competitive scene, the company is lowering the minimum age requirement for league participation to 15 years old. Capcom also stated that it is exploring the possibility of establishing a women’s league in the future, signaling a push toward greater inclusivity across its esports initiatives.
Looking further ahead, Capcom revealed plans to introduce an Asia League for Street Fighter League in 2027. The new regional league is intended to strengthen the franchise’s presence across Asia and further elevate Street Fighter 6 within the international esports landscape. While additional details about format and participating regions have not yet been announced, Capcom described the Asia League as a key step in taking its competitive ambitions to the next level.
Capcom reiterated its long-term commitment to expanding the Street Fighter esports ecosystem, with a focus on creating sustainable structures that benefit both players and fans. The company emphasized that these efforts are designed to provide more pathways for competition, foster emerging talent, and enhance the overall excitement surrounding high-level play.
Street Fighter 6 is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
