Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury Update 1.2.2 Brings Gameplay Fixes

Nintendo has released version 1.2.2 of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, focusing on stability improvements and general fixes. This latest patch ensures a smoother gameplay experience for players across both campaigns.

The update also clarifies compatibility notes for multiplayer sessions. Versions 1.2.1 through 1.1.0 remain compatible for local play, while version 1.0.0 is not. Players are advised to check their system versions before connecting.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is an expanded port of Super Mario 3D World for the Nintendo Switch, released on February 12, 2021, as part of the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. The 3D World campaign supports local wireless and online play with up to four players. The standalone Bowser’s Fury campaign takes place in an open-world setting where Mario teams up with Bowser Jr. to collect Cat Shines and fight against Fury Bowser. A major free update on June 5, 2025, improved image quality, frame rate, HDR support, and added GameShare and GameChat features on Nintendo Switch 2.
