Nintendo has released version 1.2.0 for Super Mario Galaxy 1+2, improving stability and ensuring smoother gameplay across both Nintendo Switch and the new Switch 2. This update addresses technical issues to provide players with a more comfortable experience, with specific adjustments made for Switch 2 compatibility.

The update also requires a software patch to play on the Switch 2, making it essential for players upgrading to the newer console. With this release, Nintendo continues to refine performance while offering long-awaited access to both titles in one collection.

Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 is available now as a two-game collection for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. Released on October 2, 2025, this marks the first time Super Mario Galaxy 2 has been officially available on the console. Unlike the limited-time Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection, this version is permanently available on the eShop, featuring updated HD visuals, Joy-Con-based controls, and additional features such as Assist Mode and an expanded chapter to Rosalina’s storybook.
