Superman continues its remarkable box office momentum, surpassing several major milestones for DC films. The film has now outgrossed both Deadpool 2 ($324.6 million) and Suicide Squad ($325.1 million) in domestic earnings, reaching $325.6 million and ranking as the eighth highest-grossing DC movie in U.S. history. Industry projections indicate that it will overtake Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’s $330.4 million by the end of the weekend, becoming the highest-grossing Superman film ever released domestically.

On its fifth Friday in theaters, Superman earned $2.2 million, marking the eighth-biggest fifth Friday in DC history and showing a 44.6 percent decline from the previous week despite losing over 600 theaters. The film is expected to secure between $7 million and $9 million over its fifth weekend. Globally, the movie’s total stands at $565.5 million, with $323.4 million from domestic markets and $242.1 million internationally. It is projected to cross the $600 million mark within days, with a final global tally estimated between $640 million and $680 million.

Warner Bros. has confirmed that Superman will be available for premium video-on-demand (PVOD) purchase on August 26, 2025, across platforms including Apple TV, Amazon, and Fandango at Home. Directed by James Gunn, the film marks the beginning of a new chapter in the DC Universe, starring David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The story follows Superman’s efforts to restore his reputation after a geopolitical crisis orchestrated by Luthor, setting the tone for the cinematic direction of the franchise’s future.
