Take-Two has revealed plans to release remasters of 2 previously released titles in Fiscal Year 2024, likely including the rumored Red Dead Redemption remaster.
In its Q4 and Fiscal Year 2023 Conference Call, publisher Take-Two has revealed that it plans to launch 2 new iterations of previously-released titles, and 3 independent titles, including Private Division’s planned May 23rd release of After Us from Piccolo Studio, as part of its pipeline of 16 planned releases in the publisher’s Fiscal 2024.
In one of its earlier Fiscal Year reports, the publisher has clarified its pipeline definitions, with new iterations of prior releases essentially referring to ports and remastered titles. Sequels would not fall into this category, as per Take-Two.
With prior reports of a new version of Red Dead Redemption being rated in Korea in 2023, it is highly likely that the 2010 action-adventure game will be one the two prior releases that are set to receive remasters in Take-Two’s Fiscal Year 2024. The aforementioned listing was filed on June 15, 2023, by the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea.
As for the other port/remaster, it could be anything ranging from an updated version of Red Dead Redemption for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S to the VR version of GTA San Andreas. Or perhaps fans of Bully will finally be getting a remastered version of the game on modern platforms.
Red Dead Redemption is a 2010 action-adventure game developed by Rockstar San Diego and published by Rockstar Games. Serving as the sequel to Red Dead Revolver from 2004, it stands as the second installment in the Red Dead series. Set against the backdrop of the fading American frontier in 1911, the game revolves around the story of John Marston, a former outlaw whose wife and son have been captured by the government as leverage to force his compliance as a gunslinger for hire. Driven by necessity, Marston embarks on a quest to bring three members of his former gang to justice.
