Take-Two Interactive has doubled down on its plans to release the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series, GTA VI, within the Fall 2025 window.
During its earnings conference call for Q2 2025, Take-Two Interactive has shared that GTA VI is still set for a Fall 2025 release window. The company reiterated this in conference documents and confirmed it to investors, firmly suggesting that the game will not be facing any delays. Based on its forecast for FY 2026, Take-Two Interactive is confident in the exceptional success of the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series, as it expects record-breaking performance during that period.
Elsewhere during the earnings conference call, Take-Two Interactive shared that Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online continue to surpass the company’s expectations, driven by recent updates like Bottom Dollar Bounties, Assault on ATT-16, Quality of Life improvements, and new anti-cheat features. Although GTA V and GTA Online continue to perform exceptionally well, Take-Two Interactive expects to see a gradual decline as GTA VI approaches its release. The company also revealed that the PC version of GTA Online will receive PS5 and Xbox Series X|S feature and content updates sometime in 2025.
Previously, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier had offered some insight on the GTA VI delay rumor that had been making the rounds across the internet. He mentioned that six Rockstar Games employees told him they had not heard of any delay. That said, he had cautioned that GTA VI is a big and ambitious game that could very well slip ahead of its planned release schedule. In any case, he said that there is too much time left to say anything definitive. Regardless, he added that the lack of internal announcement suggested that the rumor was not credible. Going by Take-Two Interactive’s confidence in the Fall 2025 release window, Schreier’s assessment is on-point.
