Bandai Namco has released full technical specifications and feature details for Tales of Berseria Remastered, confirming the resolution and frame rate targets for each platform along with several enhancements designed to modernize the 2016 action RPG. The remaster is presented as a version that is even easier to play, giving returning fans a refreshed experience while offering newcomers a more accessible entry point into the story of Velvet. With a clear emphasis on refining both visuals and usability, the release seeks to give the game a new opportunity to shine after several years of growing interest from the series community.
The remastered edition features anticipated graphical enhancements and includes a wide range of quality-of-life improvements to enhance overall gameplay. This package offers over 70 pieces of downloadable content from the original release, making the Special Edition particularly extensive and providing the standard version with a surprisingly generous starting set. While some legacy items will not be available, the wealth of included material guarantees that players will have plenty of customization options as they explore the Midgand Sacred Kingdom.
The story again follows Velvet, whose life is destroyed during the outbreak of the Karma Disease, an illness that turns people into monsters when the scarlet moon appears. Her younger brother is murdered right in front of her by her stepbrother, Artorias. This brutal act awakens a new power inside her, transforming her left hand into a demonic weapon. Velvet travels across Midgand solely focused on revenge, facing both the spreading chaos of the disaster and the rising fame of Artorias, whom the public considers a savior. She is joined by allies like Rokurou and Laphicet, who help deepen a story that is still one of the most emotional arcs in the entire series.
Combat relies on the Liberation Linear Motion Battle System, which lets players heavily customize their techniques and gives them control that makes trying new things worthwhile. Players can freely assign different artes across several attack tiers, allowing them to create unique combos using simple button inputs. The Soul Gauge controls how techniques are chained together, with characters either gaining or losing souls as the fight goes on. Break Soul moves give each character unique actions that go beyond normal limits, while Switch Blast lets players immediately swap characters, adding tactical depth by granting the incoming fighter an extra soul.
Bandai Namco also shared specific details about each platform. On Nintendo Switch, the game aims for a 1920 by 1080 resolution while docked and 1280 by 720 in handheld mode, with a framerate locked at 30 frames per second. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are set to reach resolutions up to 3840 by 2160 at 60 frames per second, while the Xbox Series S targets 2560 by 1440. Support for different languages and audio tracks varies by platform, with the widest selection being on the Xbox Series consoles. Storage space needed for the game goes from 10 GB on Switch to 15 GB on the Xbox Series X|S.
Tales of Berseria Remastered will launch on February 26, 2026, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with the Steam release following on February 27.
