Valve has released a new update for Team Fortress 2, introducing a host of quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and cosmetic refinements. The patch, now live across all platforms, continues to address long-standing visual inconsistencies while refining gameplay balance on community-favorite maps such as Arena Afterlife and CP Cowerhouse. This update also introduces a new cosmetic style and several technical adjustments to enhance overall playability and presentation.
Among the highlights, Valve has added a new “No Bullets” style for the Commissar’s Coat, fixed missing animations and clipping issues on multiple items, and improved map performance through targeted optimization. Arena Afterlife has also received significant gameplay revisions, with rounds now following a best-of-three format, new Devil voice lines, and adjustments to environmental hazards.

Arena Afterlife
- Fixed issues causing rounds to restart or last indefinitely.
- Added two new Devil voice lines during the pre-round phase.
- Prevented players from accessing the area above the clocktower in Hell.
- Resolved overlapping Devil voice lines.
- Fixed exploits allowing players to cancel taunts or levitate by changing class mid-round.
- Addressed bug where players could survive after falling into lava.
- Adjusted match format: rounds are now best-of-three mini-rounds (previously best-of-five).
- Removed crumpkins from the map rotation.
CP Cowerhouse
- Reworked BLU last control point gantry:
- Ragdolls no longer fall through the structure.
- Engineers can now place buildings correctly.
- Players properly fall to their demise after the gantry opens in the post-round sequence.
- Prevented ragdolls from falling through the RED last control point pit.
- Moved the soul gargoyle spawn to an above-water position near the MID control point.
- Adjusted the RED barricade near the waterfall to better match BLU’s counterpart in height.
- Applied performance optimizations throughout the map:
- Combined prop groups into single static props.
- Disabled unnecessary bone followers on static robots and gibs.
- Consolidated several func_nobuild areas and converted prop_dynamics to prop_static.
- Tweaked playerclips to improve movement flow:
- Adjusted clipping near BLU spawn rear exit door.
- Modified playerclip around the BLU battlement’s painting to prevent players from getting caught on edges.
- Added a new Easter egg: shooting each wood cow stand-in in the RED stable near the MID control point will now cause them to return as ghost cows.
