KOEI TECMO America and Team Ninja announced that a playable demo for Nioh 3 will be released on January 29, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC via Steam. The announcement was made during The Game Awards 2025, where the publisher also confirmed that the full game is scheduled to launch on February 6, 2026.
According to the publisher, the demo will support solo play and online multiplayer with up to three participants. Team Ninja stated that players who complete the demo will be able to transfer their save data to the final version, allowing progress to carry into the full release. Details on the structure of the demo, its available missions, and the scope of its progression systems have not yet been disclosed.
The studio also outlined several early purchase incentives tied to the game’s launch window. Players who redeem the early purchase bonus will receive armor sets based on characters from earlier entries, including Youngblood Armor associated with the protagonist of Nioh and Lone Wolf’s Armor linked to the lead character in Nioh 2. These items are granted through the Hellfrost Armor Set, which will be available for a limited period after release.
As part of the promotional campaign, KOEI TECMO is offering a temporary 90 percent discount on Nioh Complete Edition for Steam users. The offer is positioned as a way for players to revisit the first entry in the series, but does not appear to be directly connected to Nioh 3’s launch requirements.
Preorders for Nioh 3 are available in multiple formats. Digital customers can purchase the base game or a Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes a season pass. A SteelBook edition with two downloadable content items is also being offered. In addition, a special PlayStation 5 physical bundle labeled the Nioh 3 Treasure Box is being sold through the NIS America Store. This edition includes merchandise such as a keychain, artbook, desk pad, and soundtrack.
Nioh 3 remains in development with planned Japanese and English voice acting and localized text options in several European languages. The publisher has not yet outlined hardware specifications, system requirements, or post-launch support plans.
