The first DLC character set to arrive as part of Season 2 for Bandai Namco Entertainment’s fighting game, Tekken 8, may have been revealed via a new datamine.
Twitter/X _UMIN__ has discovered potential information regarding the first DLC character featured in Season 2 of Tekken 8. They shared that Bandai Namco Entertainment has added features to Skin Material for the aforementioned character to the game’s files.
As seen above, the DLC character is abbreviated as PHK, and there is also a parameter named “PHK_Emissive_Tiles_Contrast”. Based on this information, the character’s skin seems to require special emissive materials, possibly for his chest scars during his Rage Art.
The initials PHK suggest that the first DLC character to arrive with Season 2 of Tekken 8 is none other than the brutal Muay Thai fighter Fahkumram. He is an offensive character known for using mix-ups to pressure opponents, especially effective near walls. He excels in the neutral game due to his significant reach. His chest scars emit a red light during his Rage Art, amplifying his attacks in a manner reminiscent of Jin Kazama’s red lightning effect. Fahkumram’s fighting style is Muay Thai, known for incorporating knees and elbows alongside punches and kicks, and for its clinch techniques, which allow fighters to control opponents and deliver knee or elbow strikes. Unlike other Muay Thai practitioners like Bruce Irvin, Fahkumram’s fighting style is rooted in traditional Muay Boran, a more classical form of Muay Thai, distinguishing it from the modernized version used by Bruce.
In related news, the most recent update for Tekken 8, version 1.007, brought a host of adjustments and new content designed to enhance the overall gameplay experience. The patch gave major importance to balancing character moves, addressing software bugs, and introducing new customization options. In particular, it introduces new costume packs and avatar items to the Tekken Shop, as well as a replay feature for the Tekken Ball mode.
