Bandai Namco has rolled out update 2.05 for Tekken 8, and while the official patch notes focused on balance tweaks and bug fixes, producer Katsuhiro Harada has revealed supplementary adjustments that were not initially documented. Among these are changes to the bust proportions of several female characters, a correction aimed at addressing widespread community feedback.
In a statement on social media, Harada explained that earlier versions of the game mistakenly applied “identical chest parameters” across multiple fighters, which did not reflect the distinct proportions of each character. “Adjustments have been made to correct an issue where identical chest parameters had been applied across certain characters,” he wrote, adding that the differences are “far more pronounced” when viewed in the 3D in-game environment rather than in flat comparison images.
Harada also noted that Asuka’s neckline and upper body details were refined carefully to avoid introducing instability with costume customization. Instead of a sweeping change, the developers opted for “incremental refinements involving the shoulders, upper arms, and neck.”
The patch further resolved glitches tied to the swimsuit costume DLC, which had previously led to unusual in-game behavior. This fix, combined with the adjustments to character models, suggests the development team is paying close attention to community concerns. Many players had criticized the swimsuit content for making female fighters appear too similar, especially in terms of body proportions.
This is not the first instance of the developers responding directly to fan criticism. Earlier, the upcoming DLC fighter Miary Zo also underwent visual adjustments after backlash over differences between her concept art and final in-game model.
With these ongoing refinements, Tekken 8 continues to evolve post-launch, balancing competitive gameplay with player expectations for character design. The game is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
