Tekken 8 Ver. 3.00 Update Outlines Rank Reset and Balance

Bandai Namco has shared early details for Tekken 8’s major Season 3 update, Ver. 3.00, scheduled to release on March 17. The update will focus on refined battle balance, ranked system changes, and the introduction of an official feedback portal for direct player-to-developer communication.

Additional improvements will include matchmaking logic revisions, multiple new features and UI adjustments, and the next round of TEKKEN FIGHT PASS content and shop items. Full patch notes are scheduled to be released on the same day as the update.

Patch Notes

Battle Balance Adjustments

  • Implemented Season 3 balance theme of “Refine”
  • Adjustments respect each character’s concept, strengths, and weaknesses
  • Measures taken to prevent excessive performance gaps between characters
  • Re-evaluated relationship between character-specific power-up mechanics and the Heat System
  • Prioritized changes aligned with Tekken 8’s core gameplay and feedback received to date
  • Full balance patch notes scheduled for release on March 17

TEKKEN Dev Feedback Portal (Beta)

  • Launching beta version of official development forum
  • Players can submit bug reports and battle balance feedback via dedicated forms
  • Submissions moderated and shared on TEKKEN Dev Feedback Discord
  • Separate from Official TEKKEN Discord
  • All feedback reviewed, though not all suggestions guaranteed to be implemented
  • Release date and URL to be announced later

Ranked Match Updates

  • Main-character ranks reset by up to four tiers
    • Lower limit set to Marauder (Rank 6)
  • Sub-characters will no longer start at the same uniform rank
    • Each character’s starting rank determined individually
  • Special titles awarded based on highest Season 2 rank achieved

Rank Point Adjustments

  • Adjusted bonus points for win streaks
  • Adjusted bonus points for rank promotions
  • Added bonuses for rematch (revenge) victories
  • Revised rank demotion conditions

Matchmaking Logic Improvements

  • Matchmaking based on currently selected character rank
  • Discontinued matchmaking based on highest-ranked character
  • Adjusted timing and target ranks for raising sub-character ranks alongside main character progression
  • Additional tuning to reduce matchmaking wait times
  • Ranked-related patch notes scheduled for March 17

Additional Features and Content

  • Added player customization slot functionality
  • Increased number of character customization slots
  • Various UI and system adjustments
  • New TEKKEN FIGHT PASS round planned
  • New items planned for TEKKEN SHOP

Tekken 8 launched on January 26, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows.
