The Mairy Zo redesign appears to be the result of fans calling for a design revision after she made her first appearance towards the end of the Armor King gameplay trailer at EVO 2025. Game artist Del Walker shared his own reimagined version of the character with a portrait that more accurately resembled the character’s concept art in comparison her reveal design. He called upon the development team at Bandai Namco Entertainment, saying that there’s still time to make her look a little more like her original concept.
The game artist noted that the original concept design for Miary Zo features thicker brows, a larger forehead, a lower nose bridge, a button nose, much fuller lips, a little wave to her hair, and dark skin dark. He presented the aforementioned elements in his reminagined version of the final design. Some of these elements have been incorporated in the new design shared by Harada.
Following her reveal at EVO 2025, Bandai Namco Entertainment offered insight into the creation of Miary Zo. The character, hailing from Madagascar, is set to be added to the fighting game’s roster in October, 2025. Read about it here.
