The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth Update 1.9.7.13 Adds Item Descriptions, Trinket Buffs, and Devil Deal Changes

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth has received update 1.9.7.13, delivering long-requested quality of life improvements and gameplay changes. One of the most notable additions is the inclusion of detailed item descriptions, available once players defeat Mom and collect each item at least once. This feature helps clarify the effects of the game’s massive pool of collectibles, trinkets, and consumables.

Trinkets have also seen significant improvements, with every golden trinket now receiving unique upgrade effects. Some trinkets even unleash a powerful final form when combined with Mom’s Box. Meanwhile, Devil Room deals introduce a new system that trades permanent heart loss for temporary damage through sacrifice spikes, making for riskier but rewarding runs. Alongside these highlights, the update includes item reworks, balance changes, and numerous bug fixes to further refine the gameplay experience.

  • Revelation: Removed the 2 soul hearts on pickup
  • Plan C: Increased the delay before killing Isaac, allowing Delirium and Mother death animations to complete in time
  • Mega Blast: Now receives 6 charges instead of 3 when picking up a battery, 9 Volt, Battery Pack, and 48 Hour Energy
  • Car Battery: Added interactions for Gello, Book of Belial, Red Candle, The Candle, Doctor’s Remote, Telekinesis, and Mega Blast
  • Thin Odd Mushroom: Can now break the soft tears cap
  • Seraphim: Now contributes to the Seraphim transformation
  • 2Spooky: Now adds +0.5 tears and +0.2 shot speed
  • Black Powder: Larger explosions; fireplaces now explode when extinguished
  • Blood Rights: Each use now grants a tears upgrade for the current room
  • Pageant Boy: Always drops a penny trinket as part of its rewards

Trinkets

  • Super Ball: Bouncing tear chance scales with luck
  • Bob’s Bladder: Contributes to the Bob transformation
  • Missing Poster: 33% chance to reveal the Super Secret Room when entering a new chapter
  • Used Diaper: Skatole chance raised to 33%; spawns a blue fly when entering a combat room
  • Rosary Bead: Forces Angel Deals instead of Devil Deals when holding during a Devil Deal
  • Modeling Clay/Error: Correctly displays mimicked item/trinket in Extra HUD when gulped
  • Louse: Spawns a blue spider when completing a combat room
  • Karma: Expanded effects across donation machines, beggars, and other interactions
  • Equality: Gives +2 tear rate when keys, bombs, and coins are equal in number
  • Lazy Worm: Adds +0.5 damage in addition to shot speed down
  • Mom’s Toenail: Dropping/swapping triggers a stomp on its location
  • Child Leash: Familiars gain a small damage multiplier
  • Purple Heart: Increases champion spawn chance and loot rewards
  • Poker Chip: Improved chest rewards and slot machine payouts
  • Cursed Penny: Higher chance to teleport Isaac when picking up coins
  • Added unique effects for all golden trinkets

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is a 2014 roguelike action-adventure game designed by Edmund McMillen and developed by Nicalis. It was first released on November 4, 2014, for Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. The game later came to Xbox One, New Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, iOS, and Nintendo Switch, with ports to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2021.
