The Coalition Details Launch Improvements for Gears of War Reloaded Following Beta Feedback

by Ali Haider

The Coalition has released a breakdown of the launch improvements made to Gears of War Reloaded, many of which were influenced by player feedback gathered during the recent multiplayer beta. The studio noted that both technical observations and community suggestions guided these updates, aiming to provide a smoother and more balanced experience across all platforms.

Among the most significant changes are broad stability enhancements and cross-platform refinements. Players will now see clear platform icons, making it easier to identify where teammates and opponents are playing. Linked accounts are also more visible, allowing users to quickly find friends for cross-platform play. The process of inviting players to squads or matches has been simplified as well.

Weapon adjustments form another part of the update. The Gnasher shotgun has received a tighter spread, improved hit registration, and more reliable damage output. Additionally, the active reload damage system has been standardized across all weapons, addressing inconsistencies reported during the beta.

Matchmaking has seen meaningful upgrades through expanded server support and enhanced squad-based cross-platform play. The Coalition has also focused on performance, particularly for PC players, by introducing higher framerate settings up to 240 fps, push-to-talk voice chat, better ultrawide monitor support, and increased mouse sensitivity controls. The game has further been optimized for handheld devices, with support for ROG Ally models and official Steam Deck verification.

Gears of War: Reloaded is an enhanced port of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, developed by The Coalition in collaboration with Sumo Digital and Disbelief. Published by Xbox Game Studios, it will be available on August 26, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Steam, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and PC platforms.
