The First Descendant Update 1.3.6 Adds Melee Weapons, New Zone, and Major Rebalances

The First Descendant update 1.3.6 introduces the highly anticipated melee weapons system with two new weapon types, expanded modules, and a special Sword Pass event. Players can also explore the new Void Vessel facility zone featuring a unique surveillance trap mechanic, while the Lava Citadel intercept battle brings a fire-based challenge with exclusive rewards.

System-wide adjustments include the complete removal of Reactor Optimization conditions, consolidation of Amorphous Materials, and multiple quality-of-life improvements. Several characters such as Kyle, Ajax, Esiemo, Bunny, and Luna have received significant rebalances, ensuring a refreshed gameplay experience across the board.

    • All opened at “Shaping Device” NPC in Albion
    • “Reconstructed Devices” from Intercept Battles removed
    • New “Shape Continuously” auto-repeat function added

Character Rebalances

  • Kyle: Major skill improvements, increased damage, reduced cooldowns, new barrier mechanics
  • Ajax: Event Horizon reworked, MP costs reduced, significant damage buffs
  • Esiemo: Mobility improvements, sprint-compatible skills, faster action transitions, increased damage
  • Bunny: Thrill Bomb usable while sprinting, reduced electricity costs, increased damage and max hits
  • Luna: New “Charm” and “Rhythm” skill types, Battlefield Artist module buffed

Quality of Life

  • New “Manus” External Components set (4-piece grants Knight’s Willpower/Strike effects)
  • 9 new Mutant Cells focused on elemental impairments and damage conversion
  • Module inventory increased from 2,000 to 2,500
  • Bulk purchasing at ETA-0 Shop
  • Multiple Selectable Boxes usable at once
  • Improved party matchmaking logic to avoid full sessions
  • Simplified social tags (reduced to 76 types, only 1 selectable)

Content Adjustments

  • Axion Plains missions adjusted (increased spawns, timer changes)
  • Collectible Coins added to Void Erosion Purge and Special Operations
  • New Field Colossus “Executioner” in Axion Plains
  • Melee Weapon stats integrated into Arche Tuning nodes
  • New stat added: Bonus Weapon ATK vs. Legion of Breach
